Countdown to Sacred Plant Medicine Intensive: 11 Days

People often ask me how to go about finding a shaman of if I just traveled to Peru and began my journey.  I met a local shamanic facilitator quite by coincidence (if one believes in such things, I prefer Divine design) and traveled with her, a shaman and a large group of facilitators into the Amazon in 2012 (read about that HERE) which really cracked wide open all that I thought I knew about myself, spirituality, and life.  My journey since then has been into holistic living through plant medicine (occasional continued plant ceremonies involving a variety of healing plants, flower essences, essential oils, and daily diet), energy work, and layer-by-layer emotional and physical healing.

If you ajungle-601542_1280re interested in this path and find your way to a facilitator or travel to a shaman in South America, please trust your intuition and do not allow yourself to be pushed by anyone into anything that doesn’t feel comfortable. Likewise I have learned that we tend to want to push ourselves much harder than is good for us.  I will be eternally grateful that the shaman in this ceremony did not honor my desire for the most intensive mother plant back in 2012 despite my warrior “I can handle it” self requesting it.  It has nothing to do with being strong enough and everything to do with loving ourselves enough to be able to go let go and surrender to wherever she guides us and desire to return after we have.  Instead I was guided along a powerful yet gentler route and my psyche is still intact, well, as much as it ever was! lol

fractal-14680_640Check off another day of detoxing.  I’d be lying to say I don’t miss sugar, but honestly having this increased and more consistent energy throughout the day and a clearer mind are quite rewarding!  My carb bloat is disappearing also, and that feels fantastic.  I did have one challenging time when a woman called to confirm our business lunch for today at a local restaurant and I disclosed that I’d forgotten about this special diet back when we first scheduled this and wondered if they’d have anything I could eat.  She immediately offered that we meet at a local park or coffee shop instead.  Isn’t it beautiful how others open their hearts to meet us where we’re at when we open ours?

Today’s Ceremony Detox Menu:  Green juice early AM, oatmeal, boiled eggs and a salad for lunch, lots of fresh water and herb teas throughout the day, and fish with steamed vegetables for dinner.

Tonight’s Unplugged Time:  Walk my love’s dog and visit with him, continue Karol Truman’s Feelings Buried Alive Never Die,  do a chanting meditation, and journal.

Namaste and much love,

Sheryl Sitts, Founder, Journey of Possibilities

Spirit guided me to create this “Countdown to Sacred Plant Medicine Intensive”  blog series to help demystify this sacred healing/awakening path while simplifying the dietary preparations by sharing practical ways I am preparing for the Amazon while working and living in a modern society.   If something I share sparks your curiosity or interest, please COMMENT BELOW and let’s create a conversation here.  I receive no compensation for sharing here but am drawn by my heart to create a safe space and portal of possibility for anyone seeking hope and help to know there are many natural solutions we have not fully explored.  Only by searching within and carefully selecting holistic modalities that resonate for us and practitioners who hold their work and healing space sacred can we truly unlock our own amazing journey of possibilities!  I am here for you if I can help in any way.  Namaste.
