Earlier this week I was negotiating a business deal with a professional I very much want to work with. We each feel drawn to the other and have something to offer, but we weren’t finding an arrangement that felt right for both of us. While I certainly hope not to lose the deal, I also believe increasingly in standing in my authentic, open-hearted truth and trusting that things will work out. When I do that and make peace with not knowing how things will turn out or pushing them to go a certain way, inevitably we explore possibilities together and find mutually rewarding solutions. This has now grown into an ongoing dialogue with new possibilities emerging that are truly exciting!
The space of “I don’t know” truly is where possibility exists. It is only when we step out of what we believe we know that life can expand and surprise us in powerful ways. This high-tech society may make it easier and faster than ever to find information, but that is not necessarily going to be OUR truth. Only our heart can show us that, and we have to take the time to search and be willing to stay in the unknown before possibilities arrive, and then…wow!
Next time you aren’t 100% sure about something, anything, catch yourself before you rush to respond and instead sit with the question a while. Even better, ask your Spirit guides to intervene and help you explore possibility to arrive at your best answer. If another person is involved, keep your heart and mind open and lovingly speak your truth. If you don’t know, say so and see what happens in the land of Possibility. Oh yeah, and let me know how it works out, ok?
